Zerem is currently completing a major generator system upgrade for Toronto Community Housing Corporation at its 3171–3181 Eglinton Avenue East property, which consists of two seven-storey residential buildings with a total of 264 dwelling units. The job started in early 2025 and will be completed by mid-2026.
The project includes the supply and installation of a new natural gas generator system, along with permanent load bank, automatic transfer switches, new electrical distribution equipment, feeders, power and control wiring, and all associated conduit infrastructure. Zerem’s scope also includes temporary power provisions to support continuity during construction, as well as all work associated with the Enbridge meter upgrade and new gas feed to the generator.
In addition to the electrical scope, the project involves substantial structural and civil work, including new housekeeping pads, building penetrations, a load bank and generator platform, waterproofing, construction of new electrical and generator distribution rooms, infill of existing openings, bollards, and related site modifications.
This project reflects Zerem’s ability to deliver complex, multi-discipline infrastructure upgrades in occupied residential environments, where careful coordination, safety, and continuity of essential building services are critical.
