Zerem is seeking Project Co-ordinators, with responsibility to assist Project Managers in managing both high-rise and municipal transit infrastructure electrical construction projects. You will need to be very organized and diligent and have strong communication skills. You will need to develop solid relationships with Zerem’s project managers and site foremen, as well as our customers and vendors.
The electrical scope of work generally includes at least fire alarm systems, lighting, power distribution, and generators.
Strong performers will be offered opportunity for advancement to a Senior Project Coordinator position, and eventually a Project Manager position, and incentives such as bonuses and salary increases.
ROLE
The Project Coordinator is responsible to perform coordination activities as directed by the Operations Manager, Project Manager and/or Project Leader to successfully execute projects. The Project Coordinator must be able to read and review electrical drawings with a critical eye that will enable him or her to discover any issues and/or discrepancies and bring them to the attention of the Project Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:- Work with Project Managers and Foremen to review electrical drawings and perform counts as required.
- Assist in the resolution of electrical drawing issues.
- Read, interpret, and understand construction drawings and specifications, and coordinate with Hydro authorities having jurisdiction
- Use AutoCAD and 3D drafting skills to prepare drawings which field electricians can follow to implement installations
- Assist in the resolution of design issues, change requests, material defects and equipment problems.
- Work with release schedules, ensuring that all fixtures, distribution and materials arrive on site as scheduled; notify the PM of any discrepancies and follow up on back-orders.
- Log all packing slips and execute release with PM. Log in calendar.
- Act as liaison between suppliers and PM as required.
- Maintain positive relationship with foremen, clients, general contractors, etc.
- Upon project commencement, coordinate kick-off meeting with site team.
- Project Close-out: Ensure all close out documents are provided and stored electronically, as required.
Change Order Administration:- Receive contemplated change notices (CCN) from General Contractors or Construction Managers.
- Distribute contemplated change notices to Project Manager and field team.
- Expedite issuance of Change Orders by General Contractor or Construction Manager.
Shop Drawings:- Generate a shop drawing schedule and updates regularly.
- Expedite issuance of shop drawings from distributors or manufacturer
- Expedite approval. * Assist with daily project administration activities.
- Create and maintain electronic project filing system.
- Keep track of submittals, requests for quotes and quotes.
- Preparing cover sheets for quotations.
- Preparing electronic documents that require submittals
- Compiling information provided by others into single PDFs
- Attend Project Meetings when required and take accurate minutes, prepare them for the Project Manager in a suitable format
- Prepare and maintain internal deficiency lists as required by the Project Manager or Foreman, including lists issued by the Consultants and/or General Contractor

PROFESSIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS- 2-5 years administration experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit software and 3D drafting (Navisworks) – MEP Specialty with all tools and 3D presentation
- Have oral and written communication expertise which is complemented with a keen eye for detail.

- Electrical EstimatorElectrical EstimatorZerem is currently looking for an estimator to help quote the following types of projects:
- High rise condominium take-off and full estimates
- Fire alarm system upgrades
- Switchboard replacements
- Generator installations
- Lighting upgrade projects
- Infrastructure projects (i.e. transit)
Key Skills:- Experience pricing site instructions and other changes
- Experience using Accubid software
- MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel)
